Vinpotropile is a combined drug which consists of Piracetam and Vinpocetine. These medications have a synergistic effect when combined together.
Vinpocetine is an alkaloid of the lesser periwinkle plant. It acts as a cerebral vasodilator, which means it does improve cerebral blood flow. Vinpocetine is known under the trade names Cavinton and Cavinton Forte and is used in the treatment of cerebrovascular disorders, tinnitus and memory impairments.
Piracetam is the reference nootropic drug. It is the most studied and widely used nootropic. Piracetam does increase oxygen and glucose consumption in the brain and also acts as a positive allosteric AMPA receptor modulator. It is known under the trade names Nootropil and Lucetam.
