Tiocetam is a combined nootropic drug that consists of Piracetam and Thiotriazoline.
Piracetam is the reference nootropic drug that is used in medicine since 1960’s. It has a broad range of indications including traumatic brain injuries, cerebrovascular disorders, and cognitive impairments. Piracetam also often used recreationally as a cognitive enhancer, although its effect on healthy individuals is subtle.
Thiotriazoline is a novel drug with hepatoprotective, membrane stabilizing, anti-ischemic, antioxidant, and immunomodulating action. It was developed in 1980’s in Ukraine and is available on the market since 1994. As a standalone drug, Thiotriazoline is used in the treatment of various cardiac and liver diseases.
The indications for use of Tiocetam include ischemic stroke, vascular/toxic/traumatic encephalopathies and alcohol abstinence syndrome.
