Bemitil, also known as Metaprot, is the reference drug of actoprotectors class. Actoprotectors are the substances that are intended to improve physical performance of people exposed to stressful conditions, such as high physical loads, heat exposure, and hypoxia.
Bemitil was developed in the 1970s by Soviet scientists for application in the military medicine. It was used during Afghanistan war, Chernobyl catastrophe and Moscow Olympic Games in 1980.
Currently, Metaprot is used in medicine to treat asthenic conditions (chronic fatigue). It is often used recreationally to improve cognitive functions and physical performance. Metaprot does potentiate the therapeutic effect of nootropic drugs such as Piracetam, thus it can be used as a part of efficient nootropic stack.
